The Water Giant Creature, featuring intricate water animation effects and destruction sequences, was inspired by the animation effects on the ocean creature from Disney's Moana movie (Flux Siggraph 2017). (https://dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/3072959.3073597)
I adapted the approach to optimize production speed and creative flexibility. The giant, significantly larger than a typical boat, makes the water flow like a massive waterfall, resulting in dynamic splashing and fluid movement. This method reduces simulation time, allowing for more artistic exploration and increased productivity.
Additionally, we developed a fully procedural wood house generator as a Houdini HDA, specifically designed for destruction scenarios. Originally created by Do Duy Anh, I provided guidance and solutions for performance optimization and common destruction geometry issues before applying physics-based dynamic RBD simulations. This HDA unlock is available for purchase and can be easily customized for future projects.
